Maggie Therapy: Putting Maggie in the pool was like a miracle! The combination of 92°F water, stretching exercises and massage really did the trick. After the first session she was able to relax her leg and her muscle spasms significantly decreased. After three sessions, to my utter amazement and relief, the spasms were completely gone! Maggie was used to being a fit, active dog. Not being able to enjoy her "normal" activity level seemed to affect her spirit. After the initial pain went away she couldn't understand the need to limit her physical activity during her recovery. Swimming allowed Maggie to exercise in a no-impact environment while she recovered her strength. Maggie had great fun swimming and really enjoys her pool time. She doesn't know it's good for her! |

| Maggie's recovery from her injury has been amazing! Because of the swimming, she maintained her cardio fitness and didn't suffer any muscle loss from her reduced level of activity. I plan on using the pool in the "off season" to keep Maggie in shape through those long raining winter days. I've been involved with dogs for many years and I was amazed at the amount of knowledge Sheila has. Her awareness of the dog she is working with is truly remarkable. Her kindness and compassion made the entire experience one of pure joy for both Maggie and I. Sheila is a real treasure! |
